Ongoing choosing results show incumbent Rep. Julia Brownley of Westlake Village endure challenger Michael Koslow comfortably leading the race for the Xxvi Congressional District as of March 12.
Brownley, a Democrat, had 57,526 votes, or 51.3% of the total counted so far, according to preliminary results from Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
Koslow, a Republican, garnered 34.1%, or 38,189 votes. He will face pitch with Brownley in November.
Four candidates were on the March 5 primary ballot for the seat, which has a two-year appellation. The top two vote-getters from the primary, regardless of federal party, will progress to the Nov. 5 general election.
Bruce Boyer, a Republican, was in third place with less than 11% of the total, while Democrat Chris Anstead earned 4.1%.
In Ventura County, Brownley and Koslow's results matched the districtwide percentages.
The territory includes about 760,000 residents, most of them in Ventura County and parts of Los Angeles County, including Agoura Hills direct Calabasas.
The results are expected to be certified by April 12, state officials said.

Brownley, 71, has represented the sector since 2013 and previously served on the California State Body and Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education.
Koslow, a 63-year-old veteran from Westlake Village, brings a background in crooked justice, public administration and education.
A business man and a pardner, 62-year-old Boyer lives in Chatsworth Lake Manor and has no prior public service experience.
Anstead, 58, currently sits on the Agoura Hills City Council and has a background in biotech marketing.
